And there’s no better way to cap a day at the lake than by sliding into a sun-warmed seat at the Sand Bar, cold beer in hand. I loved the scent of the body wash so much I actually bought a bottle at the spa to take home with me. I absolutely loved our bathroom at the Lake House on Canandaigua. Of course they also had Nespresso machines which meant each morning started off with a great cup of coffee. The Lake House on Canandaigua uses a filtered water system where they have still and sparkling water available on each floor and you can refill the bottles as you please. One of my favourite features of the rooms were the reusable water bottles. During our stay at the Lake House on Canandaigua we stayed in one of their beautiful Lake Queen Queen rooms.
The shuttle is also available to bring guests to concerts at nearby CMAC in the summer or skiing at Bristol Mountain in the winter, all free of charge to guests. Dining options have long been a favorite local draw to The Lake House on Canandaigua, and with the reopening of the all-new hotel in 2020, now there are more options than ever. Now offering an array of delicious options with top-notch service, the two distinct eateries at the hotel are must-visits even for those staying elsewhere. If the Lake House existed on an island unto itself, the design and amenities would be a strong enough draw. There’s peace on the property in the winter—and all accounts lead us to believe there’s joy to be found during summer. Rural sprawl yields wineries and vineyards (of which we visited Heron Hill and Bully Hill).

Though we did not tour it, the spa will surely be a draw after it opens (right now, that’s slated for Memorial Day). But it’s the smaller details—water bottle-filling stations, no single-use plastic—that continue to impress.
